Ayush Badoni says, “Gautam Gambhir backed me and advised me.” He also endorsed him for a lengthy run in the IPL 2022.

On Monday, Badoni batted well for IPL debutants LSG. It helped the KL Rahul-led side register a solid total against Gujarat Titans.

Ayush Badoni repaid the Lucknow Super Giants’ faith in him by hitting 54 runs off just 41 balls. It included sixes against Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan and Lockie Ferguson. When LSG were reeling at 29/4 after a brilliant Mohammed Shami performance, he joined Deepak Hooda.

Ayush Badoni, a 22-year-old Delhi batsman, took the Indian Premier League by storm on Monday. He hit a fifty under difficult circumstances for Lucknow Super Giants in their first encounter of IPL 2022 against fellow newcomers Gujarat Titans.

All about “Ayush Badoni”

Ayush Badoni had very limited T20 experience before his IPL debut on Monday. He had no first-class or List A experience. His most recent competitive appearance was in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year.

Despite impressing India at the U19 level, making 200 runs at the U19 Asia Cup in 2018 and a spectacular 185 in a Youth Test against Sri Lanka, Ayush was unable to make an impact on the domestic scene in Delhi.

Badoni, on the other hand, took his time and waited for Hooda to finish his fifty before attacking the GT bowlers. Ayush Badoni made history by being the first guy in IPL history to get a fifty on debut while batting at No. 6 or below, but the Delhi teenager claimed he had no idea he had hit a fifty on Monday.

“I wasn’t looking at the score, I was just batting and wasn’t thinking of my fifty. Just wanted to play my natural game. I realized I got a fifty only after I got there. And couldn’t sleep last night. I was very nervous. After I hit the first boundary, I got confidence,” Badoni told the broadcasters.

He had a special mention for Gautam Gambhir. Ayush Badoni says, “Gautam Gambhir backed me and he told me that I will get a long rope and not just a few matches here and there”
