IPL 2023 MI vs CSK Highlights:
MI vs CSK IPL 2023 Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by seven wickets in Match 12 of IPL 2023, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on Saturday. Chasing a target of 158, CSK reached 159/3 in 18.1 overs, courtesy of some fine batting from Ajinkya Rahane (61) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (40*). Meanwhile, Jason Behrendorff took a wicket for MI. Three-wicket haul from Ravindra Jadeja, followed by a fiery half-century from Ajinkya Rahane guided Chennai Super Kings to a thumping seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2023 match on Saturday. Batting first, MI managed a below-par 157 for 8 in 20 overs with Ishan Kishan’s 32 off 21 balls and ‘Impact Player’ Tim David’s 31 off 22 balls being the principle contributions. Ravindra Jadeja with 3 for 20 was the most successful bowler while pacer Tushar Deshpande and spinner Mitchell Santner took two wickets apiece. In reply, Rahane hit seven fours and three sixes as CSK won the match in 18.1 overs. Rahane’s 50 came off only 19 balls.
Ajinkya Rahane’s flawless batting and Ravindra Jadeja’s superb bowling help Mumbai Indians Beat Chennai Super Kings in the match number 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) at their home ground Wankhede cricket stadium in Mumbai. MI were restricted to 157 runs in the first innings after been asked to bat first as MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first. MI are playing their second game after almost a week and they must be recharged to take on a tough opponent. On the other hand, this is CSK’s third game in the season. They have won and lost a game each. MI, who are traditionally the slow starters, are still looking for their first win of the season.
MI vs CSK is also hailed as the ‘El Clasico’ of IPL because of their strong rivalry. MI have won the title five number of times while CSK have won four IPL titles. In what could be MS Dhoni’s last IPL, he aims to win the record-equallying fifth trophy before bidding good bye to the fans. Rohit Sharma, Jofra Archer will be key players for MI while Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ben Stokes will hold the key for CSK’s success in this game.
The two teams that occupied the bottom two spots in the previous season are facing each other again, and it seems that only one of them has learned from their mistakes, and unfortunately for Mumbai Indians, it’s not them. The same old issues continue to plague the blue team – their star batsmen are not stepping up when it matters. In today’s game, they were undone by some simple left-arm orthodox spin. Their bowlers are also struggling, as no combination seems to fill the void left by Jasprit Bumrah’s absence. Their spinners lack the ability to take wickets, and the pacers they have brought in are struggling to perform at this level.
