Umesh Yadav, an Indian fast bowler, spoke about his path as a cricketer. He spoke about the challenges he faced as a child growing up in a poor family. Umesh Yadav is in fantastic form in the IPL 2022. He is performing admirably for his Kolkata Knight Riders team, with whom he last played in 2014.
Umesh Yadav has been outstanding in the IPL 2022. He is in excellent bowling form, with eight wickets in three games and the purple cap to his credit. However, the Indian pacer’s white-ball experience has been mixed, as he has been in and out of the team.
Umesh Yadav has struggled to even make the ODI and T20 squads since the advent of young bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah. “My actual adventure in white-ball cricket started after 2014,” Umesh Yadav stated while speaking to Kolkata Knight Riders about his ups and downs in cricket.
When I was in and out of India’s white-ball squad, I felt horrible about this downturn in my career. People began to refer to me as a “white-ball bowler” all of a sudden. And as that began to happen, I wondered how things could shift so quickly.
I was the highest wicket-taker in the 2015 World Cup at one point in my career, and then everything changed.” He also discussed his challenges, saying, “From where I come from, there will be very few lads who believe they can play for India.”
It was costly for them to play cricket and fantasise about it. You just cannot do that since you live in a coal mine and your father works in a coal mine. I never expected to play for India at the moment because it was beyond my wildest dreams.”
