ICC outlines biosecurity protocols for U19 CWC

ICC has also set up Biosafety Scientific Advisory Group (BSAG). This group will be an independent group and it will be headed by an independent chair in partnership with all partner boards and the host nation.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday outlines protocols for U19 World Cup 2022 to be held in West Indies starting from 14 January. Protocols are to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the world cup.

The health of the players and the support staff is of utmost importance and all measures are in place to have the welfare of all the stakeholders.

ICC has also set up Biosafety Scientific Advisory Group (BSAG). This group will be an independent group and it will be headed by an independent chair in partnership with all partner boards and the host nation.

BSAG will be responsible to oversee all the Biosafety related issues throughout the tournament. The Bio governing body would be meeting regularly. BSAG would ensure COVID-19 related issues are dealt with, with appropriate medical advice.

Team’s Broadcasters and match officials will undergo Quarantine upon arrival. in the Caribbean. World Cup is hosted across 4 Island nations with players in robust bio bubble with regular RT-PCR tests.
