Indian’s were frustrated and under pressure, Ngidi

India vs South Africa, 3rd Test: Lungi Ngidi shared his opinion on India’s controversial reaction to Dean Elgar getting a DRS reprieve in the 21st over of South Africa’s second innings

Interacting with media after 3days play, South African pacer Lungi Ngidi said that Indian’s were under pressure and frustrated, responding to Questions asked about Indian team reactions to the controversial DRS decision that went South Africa’s way.

South African skipper Dean Elgar who was judged LBW in the bowling of Ashwin had reviewed the decision where the third umpire reversed the decision as the ball was missing the stumps. The Indian team had taken it to the stump mike to vent their frustration led by their Skipper Virat Kohli.

“Reactions like that show a bit of frustration. And sometimes teams capitalize on that. You never really want to show too much emotion, but I guess we could see clearly right there that emotions were high,” Ngidi said during the media interaction after the end of the third day’s proceedings.

Nigidi’s reaction was in response to the constant chatter on the field by Indian fielders,

“Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball eh, not just the opposition. Trying to catch people all the time.” said angry Virat. “You should find better ways to win Supersport” commented ace spinner Ashwin, while India vice-captain was heard commenting: “Whole country playing against XI guys”

“Those feelings ended up showing there. But at the end of the day, I think everyone reacts differently to certain situations and probably what we saw there, probably how those guys were feeling at the time.” added Ngidi.
