Indian limited over Skipper Rohit Sharma is all set to take over the captaincy duties in ODI with a series against West Indies starting on the 6 of February.
Rohit who was appointed as Indian ODI skipper before the South Africa series, the opener had to miss the series because of a hamstring injury. As per sources in BCCI Rohit Sharma has fully recovered from injury and is expected to clear fitness test this week at NCA camp, Bengaluru.
Indian Selection committee will be meeting this week to announce the Indian team that will lock horns against West Indies who will be touring India to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is along with the announcement of limited-overs team, selectors are expected to take a call on Test Captanciy, as Virat Kohli has stepped down from captaincy after South Africa Series.
As per sources in BCCI, Rohit is likely to be assigned Test captaincy. With two world cups under 24 months, would be interesting to see if the selectors would appoint Rohit as skipper in the longest format or would share the responsibility of test format with any other player. India will be playing Test cricket against Sri Lanka who will be touring India in march.
Bumrah is set to be rested for series against West Indies, because of Work Load management and Bhuwaneshwar, Ashwin might give way to Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel.
