Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma reveals opening pair on Wednesday. He hinted that he is going to open with Ishan Kishan in the IPL 2022 against the Delhi Capitals. Sharma also spoke about Surya Kumar Yadav. He said that he is still in the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Surya Kumar Yadav is one of the trending batting talents. He has performed very well for the Mumbai Indians in the previous editions of IPL. On February 22nd he picked up a hairline fracture on his thumb when he was playing in the final match of the T20 series against the West Indies.

Currently, he is at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.  The NCA has not released him till now. Rohit said, “ I’m looking forward to opening with Ishan Kishan. Surya is at NCA. We are waiting for him to join us, once we get the clearance from NCA.”

Mumbai Indians’ head coach Mahela Jayawardene said, “Rohit Sharma – Ishan Kishan pair is a good combination. It is relevant to mention that Ishan Kishan was the biggest buy at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

15.25 INR was paid to retain Ishan Kishan. Mumbai Indians have a very limited option when it comes to top order batters. Now, at No 3 Tilak Varma can be expected and Ramandeep Singh or Anmolpreet Singh can be seen as a replacement to Surya Kumar Yadav.

Jayawardane happened to hail Tilak’s talent. He said, ‘ Tilak is a massive talent, he has a lot of potential. It is about learning for him and we will try to nurture all the young guys in the team. As Rohit Sharma reveals opening pair and all seems to be ready, the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals on March 27th at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
