Swann lauds Hardik’s captaincy

Hardik Pandya, the Gujarat Titans captain, is doing a fantastic job in the IPL 2022, and few expected him to do so well in the first two games of such a high-pressure event. A former English off-spinner, Graeme Swann lauds Hardik’s captaincy, praising his calmness.

Hardik Pandya has recently become one of the most talked-about cricketers. Since November of last year, the India all-rounder has been out of play owing to injury. He did not perform well at the T20 World Cup, which was held in the United Arab Emirates. 

This created a lot of speculation over his future with the Indian side. After IPL 2021, he was also released by his former franchise, the Mumbai Indians. Hardik Pandya, on the other hand, joined Gujarat Titans as captain and has proven to be an excellent leader.

Hardik and IPL 2022

The 28-year-old all-rounder has played well with both bat and ball. He has led his team from the front. Hardik has taken one wicket and scored 63 runs in the two matches he has played so far in the competition. Many people have praised him for leading his team to two straight victories.

In an interview with Star Sports, former English off-spinner Graeme Swann remarked, “He reminds me of a little boy who has been named captain of a U-15 team. Boy! I was quite impressed with his captaincy. Isn’t he doing a great job?

He has an aura and a personality, and he prides himself on being able to lead other guys. He has a cool demeanour and always appears calculated.”

Graeme Swann lauds Hardik’s captaincy and went on to say, “His bowling is excellent. We are not permitted to inquire about his bowling, and he has put an end to all discussions regarding his fitness. Hardik has put in a lot of effort to improve his fitness and is now at 100 per cent. He was a lightning-fast bowler.”
