Women’s World Cup – India beats Bangladesh by 110 runs; keeps semi-final hopes alive

Indian Cricket Team wins over Bangladesh by 110 runs.

Indian women's team celebrating after the win over Bangladesh

India beats Bangladesh with dominating runs over 110. Yastika Bhatia and Sneh Rana gave all their power to the win. Their all-around performance helped to hunt a spot in the semi-finals in the ICC Women’s World Cup.

India opted to bat and recovered from mid-inning mistakes. It gave a decent 229 for seven. Bhatia’s play was very responsible with 80-ball 50. Rana and Pooja also contributed their potential to the game.

When led by Rana, the spinners controlled the proceedings of the games then and there. India’s bowling out Bangladesh for 119 in 40.3 overs. This is the third win of the tournament and also helped India to improve their Net- Run- Rate.

On Sunday Mithali Raj’s led side will face South Africa in the final League match. However, before this match, if the second-placed Proteas beat West Indies, the chances of India being in the semi-finals will get better.

Replacing Meghna Singh with a senior spinner Poonam Yadav tends to be a great decision. Spinners worked well at a slow pace but from both sides. This made run-scoring very difficult for Bangladesh. India restricted Bangladesh to 69 / 5 after 25 overs.

The resistance established by Lata Mondal and Salma Khatun was broken by Jhilan Goswami. Vastrakar grabbed Salma’s wicket and Jhilan Goswami got Lata’s wicket. Goswami and Vastrakar got 4 wickets and the remaining was got by other spinners.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma together scored 74 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur tried to maintain the innings for a long. Bhatia scored 50 runs for 80 balls which truly supported and Richa Ghosh contributed 26 runs. So, now the chances for the team after India beats Bangladesh shines brighter.
