IPL 2022 – Suresh Raina picks names of four to succeed MS Dhoni as CSK Captain.

In a recent interview, Suresh Raina picked names for the next CSK captain. MS Dhoni is the Captain of CSK from the start of IPL. Till now, the fans have not seen anyone as captain of the Chennai Super Kings. He is called by a nickname called “Thala” by his IPL fans. Dhoni is leading the team and till now has played in 213 matches as a skipper. CSK has 4 titles since 2008. It has also entered finals 9 times. Suresh Raina is also a very famous IPL player of CSK. 

He too had a nickname called “Chinna Thala” which means “Mr Dependable” for Dhoni. It is relevant to mention that this year, Suresh Raina was not picked by any franchise. So, he can be seen among the Hindi commentators in this season. Suresh Raina is also in the Chennai Super Kings team, since its start. This makes him an expert about the Skippers, the management of the team and decision making.

Recently, a webinar was hosted by Star Sports. Suresh Raina was asked about who could be the captain after  Dhoni. He said, “Rayudu is there then you have Robin Uthappa then DJ Bravo is there. Jadeja, I think, has a good cricketing brain and has been performing well recently”.

The name of Ravinder Jadeja seems to be in the first place for being the next captain. Age is also standing as a factor. Robin Uthappa and Rayudu are 36. Bravo is 38. Ravinder Jadeja is 33 and is the youngest of all. This quality makes him the perfect fit for the position and he can also play for the next 4 to 5 years.

It is relevant to mention that Jadeja is the highest-paid player in the franchise. The team retained him with 16 crore INR.
