Rahul will emerge as a phenomenal leader: Goenka

Lucknow IPL franchise owner Sanjeev Goenka has expressed his confidence in KL Rahul as to lead his IPL team. Talking to Star Sports, Goenka said that Rahul is evolving as a player and maturing as a Captain.

Goenka’s team has confirmed that KL Rahul will be leading the new IPL franchise in IPL 2022

Currently, KL Rahul is leading the Indian ODI team in South Africa and India could not manage to win the first two ODI’s with the last match of the tour to be played on Sunday.

Talking about the draft picks Goenka said “We are looking to build a team for the future and not for one or two seasons as we did with Pune franchise, but actually building a foundation. which will compete successfully for many years. We are also looking for players to contribute in more than one dimension”.

“Marcus is a great finished, very good folder and bowler as well. KL Rahul can keep wickets and bowl as well, Bishnoi is very good spin bowlers who bring variety to the bowling and adds value with his fielding” added Goenka,

The new team owner confirmed that before finalizing the three players draft franchise has looked into various aspects like more than one dimension and also players who can be with the franchise for a long time.
