Indian stars shuttlers off to a good start to the year. Playing at Indian Open Sindhu defeated Sri Krishna Priya in straight sets, 21-5, 21-16 to enter second round of Yonex Sunrise Indian Open in the womens singles event.
In Means singles event Kidambi Srikanth, World Champion silver medalist had a thumping victory over Siril Verma 21-17, 21-10 to advance in to the second round.
Sindhu would be facing either Ira or Doha harry in the second round. Srikanth to face Kim Bruun in the second round.
At the start of the day, India’s Ashmita created upset by defeating Russia’s no 5 seed Evgeniya who is ranked 28 in the world. Ashmit advanced to round two by defeating 5 seeded in straight sets 24-22 21-16
