Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra feels Shubman Gill’s poor performance will affect on his chances to enter Indian National Team. He also stated that Gujarat Titans needs good start from their opening batsman Shubman Gill.

Gill started his IPL 2022 with duck after that he scored 84 against DC and 96 against PBKS in two consecutive matches. Since then his bat is silent. He has scored 269 runs from 10 matches with average off 26.90 . Yesterday unfortunately he was ran out on 9 by Rishi Dhawan.

“Shubman Gill needs to start scoring big runs again. Gujarat are managing without big scores from him, but the selectors are watching that he is not scoring runs, which is not a good thing for him. Also, Hardik Pandya has also gone off the boil a bit. They are doing well without contributions from him, but the team will struggle in the long run if he doesn’t score,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Cricket commentator Aakash Chopra also said that Gujarat Titans have very good bowlers like Lockie Ferguson and Rashid Khan. But they are not performing well.

“GT have excellent bowlers, but it’s not like they are doing well in every game. Lockie (Ferguson) has been leaking runs in the last two matches. Rashid Khan is also going for a few runs and not picking up too many wickets. Still, they find ways to be relevant and win games. They are surprising all and sundry,”
